How to play "No One Together" by Kansas on piano: play through!
This is not a tutorial, only a play through video, which I still had from my "NOT"-collab in 2017. Since my Kronos touchscreen is broken and I am currently unable to publish new tutorials or finish my already started "Heart Of The Sunrise" tutorial, I thought I would publish this top view of the piano part of NOT. Now that RUclips has a function to slow down audio and video up to 1/4 of the original, this will almost serve as a tutorial.
I raised the volume of the Piano for this video compared to the original collab video, hope this will make it even easier to learn it.

    Thank you so much for sharing this. To the person who's just learning the keyboard, this is definitely NOT for beginners. Albeit I certainly understand the desire to play something challenging and fantastic Just take it slowly until you're comfortable with that right hand in particular. If you practice it too fast, and it's incorrect, you'll just be practicing mistakes. Another tip that helps with fast broken chord like that of the right hand is, to BLOCK those right hand chords. For example, the 1st 3 notes of the right hand are Dd F Dd. play those 2 notes together. (that gives you a diad because the Db is repeated. A diad is 2 notes played simultaneously) The next 3 notes are Eb Ab C; play those 3 notes altogether. That gives you an Ab major triad. Triad being 3 notes played simultaneously). Rhythmically, the right hand notes are triplets. 1-and-a 2-and-a etc etc. Play the diad followed by the Ab triad. Play each as quarter notes. Start slowly and gradually increase speed. Those note groupings just go back and forth. Hopefully, that makes sense and hopefully it helps break things down a bit.

    • @rushyeskansas
      @rushyeskansas Год назад

      Thanks Holly for the detailed explanations, I am sure it helps especially beginners to understand better.

      Yes it really helps to "bite size" difficult tunes. It's really easy to become overwhelmed with complex tunes that sound fantastic. When that happens, people often tend to give up because what once provided joy and excitement becomes predominantly a source of frustration and inadequacy. Misc is supposed to be fun and nothing is more fun for me than to conquer a painfully difficult song.

    It cracks me up when people people think an actual violin bow was used on the guitar to play this. I know, apparently, that Vandenberg would use one in concert but he had to be faking it. It's not possible because the strings lay flat across the neck, whereas on violin they are arched.

      I watched the play-through video, very cool. I couldn't tell how you are stepping forward and back through the setlist patches so seamlessly...

    Hey Richie! Stopping by to see what's up. Hope you're doing well, my friend. This is outstanding as expected! Your keyboard skills are top shelf. I uploaded a new one from my band a few weeks ago. (It's actually a live YES cover this time.) Check it out if you have a few minutes.

      @@rushyeskansas I don’t know how to post video?soon as I learn I will,I play intro perfectly,and after that it’s just basically chord structure,I’m picking it out by ear,I don’t read music,I’m long haul driver going back to work soon as I can,injured my shoulder,but probably not til next fall or winter,will I have time to do that,but we’ll do it,sounds good.
